Im playing on FTB infinity evolved 1.7.10 and ive been using mystcraft to get a lot of molten metals and then convert them into solid blocks using Tinkers Construct smeltery. I automated the process a little bit by puttin liquid transfer nodes into the smeltery drains and out of them.
